These Terms and Conditions apply when you order food, shop, request an errand, sell, or deliver through Grinix. They work together with our Terms of Use, which cover how you may use the website and app.
1. How Grinix works
Grinix is a platform that connects three groups of people:
- Customers who order goods or request errands;
- Vendors, the restaurants, street vendors and shops that prepare or sell goods;
- Errand runners, the riders who pick up and deliver.
Vendors are responsible for the goods they sell. Grinix arranges the ordering and delivery but does not prepare or produce the goods itself.
2. Placing orders
When you place an order you are asking to buy the items or book the service. The order is confirmed when we or the vendor accept it. We may decline or cancel an order, for example if an item is unavailable, the delivery address is outside our service area, or we suspect fraud.
Grinix currently serves Owerri and nearby areas. Check that your address is covered before you order.
3. Prices and fees
Vendors set their own prices. The delivery fee and any other charges are shown before you confirm your order. Delivery fees can vary, for example with distance, the size of the order and demand. The total you see at checkout is the amount you agree to pay.
4. Payments
You pay using the payment options shown in the app. By placing an order you authorise us to collect the total. If a payment fails or is reversed, we may cancel the order. Where a third-party payment provider is used, its terms also apply.
5. Delivery and pickup
- Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. Traffic, weather and vendor preparation time can affect them.
- Give us an accurate address and a phone number that you will answer.
- Someone must be available to receive the order. If we can't reach you after reasonable attempts, the order may be cancelled and you may still be charged.
- Where pickup is offered, collect the order within the time the vendor gives you.
6. Errand requests
When you book an errand, describe the task and the items clearly and accurately. You confirm that you are entitled to send or collect the items involved. You pay for any items the runner buys on your behalf, plus the errand fee. We may refuse an errand that is unsafe, unclear or unlawful.
7. Prohibited items
You must not order, send or ask a runner to carry:
- anything that is illegal to own, sell or transport in Nigeria;
- weapons, explosives, or illegal drugs;
- hazardous, flammable or dangerous materials;
- stolen goods;
- anything that could put a runner or another person at risk.
Runners may refuse to carry an item they believe breaks these rules.
8. Cancellations and refunds
You can cancel an order before the vendor starts preparing it. Once preparation or the errand has started, we may not be able to cancel or refund it.
If your order is missing items, wrong, or arrives damaged, tell us promptly through the app or by email at hello@grinix.com, with details and photos if you can. We will review it and, where appropriate, refund or credit you.
9. Vendors
If you sell through Grinix, you agree to:
- keep your menu, prices and availability accurate;
- prepare and package goods safely and hygienically;
- hold the licences and registrations the law requires for your business;
- prepare orders promptly and hand them to the runner in good condition.
Fees, commissions and payouts are set out in your vendor agreement with Grinix.
10. Errand runners
If you deliver through Grinix, you agree to:
- provide truthful identity details and any documents the law requires for your work;
- ride and drive safely, and follow traffic laws;
- handle orders with care and never open, keep or misuse them;
- treat customers and vendors with respect.
The terms of your engagement, including how you are paid, are set out in your onboarding agreement.
11. Conduct
Everyone on Grinix is expected to be respectful. Abuse, harassment, fraud or unsafe behaviour can lead to a warning, suspension or removal from the platform.
12. Liability
Vendors are responsible for the quality and safety of the goods they sell. To the extent the law allows, Grinix is not liable for the quality of vendor goods, for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, or for indirect or consequential losses. Where Grinix is found liable, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the order concerned.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Nigerian law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
13. Disputes and governing law
If something goes wrong, contact us first and we will try to resolve it fairly. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
14. Changes and contact
We may update these terms from time to time and will change the date at the top of this page when we do. Continuing to use Grinix after an update means you accept the new terms. Questions? Email hello@grinix.com.
